| If I take the spacers off the inside of te wheels catch on the lower arms and won't drive, they're not just for show!!!! Lol
I don't know how long, but I'm not willing to risk wasting the money I've paid for it just to faarrrk about a bit, rather wait until it's ready, tbf I do 150 miles per week to work and back
Rich- got a xtd stage 3 clutch from the states, decent price and decent reviews so saved a few pennies rather than going all out on an exedy or something
Should be going to greggs to be put on the dyno and set up the avcr before jae

| 500 miles on a clutch is daft, if it hasnt gone in the first 5-10 miles its fine.
I would be more concerned about the fact its XTD as they arent exactly known for their quality.
A groupbuy was run for their stage 3 clutchs a few months back now and out of the 6 or so people who have fitted them, have either removed them or complained and gone for something else.
Springs spitting out the discs pressure plates failing popping out rivots etc
Clutch isnt something I would skimp on personally.

| daft??why??
i think you'll find, most manufacturers, whether it be brakes or clutches, reccomend 500 miles and personally,i agree.personally id do 200-300 as i dont use my car daily.
if you think 5-10 miles is a good enough bedding in period, you might aswell skimp on clutches.
the bedding in period isnt to see whether the clutch will fail or not.the clue is in the name..."bedding in".
so when your kicking you brand new clutch and glazing over the friction surface...well done you just reduced the efficiency quite significantly.

| ^perhaps if the guys who did the group buy bedded them in for 5-10 miles that's why so many problems, I read alot of reviews before purchasing. Alot of people who havnt got them where criticising them, but all reviews I found of people actually with them actually said the opposite and recommended them. Currently my clutch is slipping so I'm happy with any improvement tbh, I don't expect amazing results from te price I've paid tbh | |

| attley-im sure it will be fine, just give it a proper bedding in eg:more than 10-15miles.
ive got a cheapish stage 3 clutch in the mx5 and i cant complain.for the money i paid it works perfectly.

| Also, been thinking about what exhaust to get done, either going for 3" straight pipe with a muffler, or just 3" pipe out the back, maybe twin exit and cut my bumper to fit (get the old victory pipes on the go for jae) | |

| I did alot of reasearch before i got mine and reffered duane, I asked on forums about the XTD's and as duane said, people were either saying they were great for the money or just great in general and typically the people who were slating them didnt actually run one.
guys on sxoc saying they were getting good mileage and kicking 3rd gear IF they were bedded in correctly
I went for the stage 4 so we'l let u know how it is sam

| ^^some good info there ezza.
this is why i get annoyed when people contradict good advice.
people are quick to slate products, but the thing with performance products is,there are longer bedding in periods and more involved aftercare.
giving a clutch 10-15 miles to bed in is daft!!

| F1=shit h22 eat mine even after bedding in. XTD heard good things couldnt find UK supplied for DC2 needed ASAP. EXCEDY = quality but overated maybe? expensive OEM = BEST for oem setup but no good for you guys running alot of power.
Duane clutch should be fine, you drive pretty chilled most of the time. Ezza I think you should have got like a stage 5 or 6 for you lol

| i can definitely say i didn't bed my F1 stage 3 in for any decent amount of time, it was up for sale, and i had a whole lot of fun to be had in it before it went within two weeks it felt the same as as the XTD when it was on it's way out so i can't really be too harsh about it | |

| Well....what a day. Exhaust isn't done.
Basically, 9am started to take the clutch out and discovered not only was the pressure plate welded to the flywheel, but also the flywheel was damaged. After aquiring another flywheel, then found the nut for the flywheel was tightened hella tight and had to go buy a breaker bar and 55mm socket to get it off.
Clutch all sorted by 5pm, after fitting rad pipes, avcr and spark plugs (wheel bearing nut was loose so didn't need replacing afterall), it was 8.30pm.
Then the car decided not to start, no cranking and starter motor all plugged in as should be. Panicked for a second thinking "could this be why te flywheel was welded (wrong size/non fc starter?), but 30 min later found a loose connection on the starter motor.
Got home 15 mins ago, plan is to book exhaust for the week leading up to jae (gotta save again as unforeseen expenditure lol)
Many thanks to ben and kev though, numerous times I thought they would give up as it was literally problem after problem for 12 hours solid.

| Oh, also found out my turbo is on the way out (excessive play) and my engine (believe it or not) is running lean for some reason (old spark plugs burnt to faaark)
I'm not giving up yet, I'll upload pics tomorrow

| take the rough with the smooth, it will be worth it when its all sorted and drives like new.
id find out why its running lean asap, afaik running lean can damage the engine (with piston engines atleast)

| Same with rotaries, gonna try a 255lph fuel pump, re wire it and get it mapped at greggs asap.
It's getting there, slowly. Lol, it's good to find these things in a way as I know it's getting put right rather than leaving them bodged

| Well yesterday you fixed more things than what you found wrong.
So its looking good, few minor things bit by bit also you got like 500 miles of chilled out driving for a while anyways.
