Im looking to get a MIG soon, probably gunna get a clarke 160TM, for restoration/fabrication work (body and chasis)
Anyone here weld? any tips/info on good consumables?
also where can i get argon bottles at a decent price? (not rental)

i did welding on my PEO (Performing Engineering Operations). its quite hard to get consist nice welds at first, but once you get the hang of it, and find your rhythm you'll be ok.
as for consumables and gas i'll ask my dad.

i used to weld sign post footings in the holidays when iwas at uni....likedave said with practice you will pick it up in no time

I have a little experience from working at the ex's dads place aaaages ago, I had my technique down pretty well but I always had the thing setup for me and had no idea of even what type of welder it was or how it even worked back then lol I started ally welding with arc but that shit was too time consuming to learn in the short space of time I was there
