| As some of you know im a poor, tax stealing (thanks guys i really appriciate the free beer from your taxes!) student. Also as some of you know my once red civic is not very red at all anymore and is in desperate need of some TLC. Once the new engine from Jay is fitted and running the painting starts! i have been reading a shitload about this technique (about 15 hours of forum reading in total and counting ) im going to be doing a start to finish documentry here of how its going starting with my new test peices. Right First of all the test peice shopping list! 750ml of Snow White International Brightside Boat Paint £9.99 3 Packs of 4" Super High Density Foam Rollers £7.99 1 Ford Mondeo Passenger Wing for the testing! - £9.99 Wet and dry paper i allready got Just to give you a idea of the finish that this paint can be given here is a member im getting lots of info off from HT Before After The paint jobs aint as good as a pro one obviously, but for the cost its going to be a damn fuckin good improvment on what i got at the moment! ill post pics as the progress starts :-) any questions? Wish me luck Scott | |

| cheers mate, like all paint jobs its how good the prep work is. allthough no primers needed!
its in the ratio of paint : mineral spirits mainly, dependant upon working conditons and how much wet sanding is done inbetween coats ect.
apparantly the guy who did the white one sanded off about 70% of the paint from each coat to make sure there was no orange peel.
its lines im going to be going down, i got shit loads of time, jus little money lol

| So far ive just done a test peice and im about to start final sanding / compounding / polishing / waxing to get the final result. Test peice before First few coats Few more coats Few more coats! Now these last pics are of the paint drying so it still needs a final wetsand to get rid of the little bits of peel. And the supplys to sort out the bodywork before i start on the car | |

| cheers man,
just gave it a quick wet sand, and ive ran out of paint!
so ive gotten impatient and used some shitty poundland polish on it using a rag.
my god it makes a difference. the shine is really there!
cant imagine what some poorboys swirl remover, turtle wax pro polish, meguigars wax and a hardcore buffer are going to do to the final product!
just started on the bodywork too trying to get some dents out. but using filler in the dark is really fucking hard!
ill post some more pics in the light tomorrow.

| on the test peice im meant to do the following
Use poorboys swirl remover, use some turtle wax pro polish, and some meguigars wax,
all with a hardcore buffer,
but i dont have the money for the buffer yet and im confident the shine will be one hell of alot better when i get the buffer. so im onto the bodywork at the moment sorting out dents n shit, paints in the post to me at the mo.
ive decided to stick with the white too, saves alot of hassle.

I would do white mate, black can be a very tricky colour to get right ive heard that too, plus ive allready kinda got the painting process of the white nailed. its my fillering work im worrying about the most. havent done it on this scale before. i think that with the patches of filler and paint on my car now i remind myself of a cirtain civic owner who robbed EZ's paint job and apparantly is putting in a 350z engine in his Eggy! | looking good, a sanding block will fix anything, just block the shit out of it and it should come out straight......ish.
Fair play for having the balls to do it, i just dont trust myself with bodywork.
From what iv read tho im sure if you take your time it will come out perfect.
and....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOMGHAHAHHHAAHAHALOL!!!!!!!!1
a 350z engine?
why and how? he will have to sit in the back once he's completely cut and refabricated a bulk head to accomedate (sp?)!
i cant think of a much worse chasis to put such a big heavy RWD engine in, it will be rwd AND understeer. lol.
being so light eg's can get away with having piss poor torque a high revving engine and nimble handling, but that would pretty much ruin it all.
