But i think il take it easy yeah ive read that too. hard to know what to believe. Wehn you think about it logicaly, running it in gentley seems the way to do it, but then professional engine builders say the opposite. it just wouldnt feel right blasting a freshly built engine lol if your spoiler comes monday morning dude i'll drop the tilt brackets off, if not i'll see yo ass at the meet

| just let it idle and run on mineral oil for bit, this oil is thicker and helps to bend and mold the new parts into place without any damage and no need to rag the engine but its up to you whatever method u wana use good luck either way. | |

| I know what u mean, i think the assembly lube should take care of it.
Got enough of the engine in to try and start it, but the battery was dead (predictably), so im just waiting on the mrs to bring some jump leads and try again, it should run without the exhaust mani shouldny it? just to make sure it runs.

| without manifold it will just idle a little funny, and be very noisy, but other than that deffo run it on mineral for bit, just leave it idle for bit then do an oil change before proper drive so you cleared out all the crap, magnetic sump nut wud be usefull i dont care what anyone says fresh build means your gona get few bits in the first oil. | |

im thinkin with the cam gear about finding the bit thats sticking out and tapping it with a hammer to try and straighten it out a bit?

| So iv done a few miles in it now and its pretty fucking sweet, the rust has nearly gone off the discs so its stopped making that loud ass grinding noise, iv given it a bit of stick and it feels like it pulls stronger than before but there is the 02 sensor to sort out and the engine check light is on so il see what codes its throwing. The mounts are pretty solid, im still getting used to them, it feels like im going to stall everytime i pull off cus of the judder of the engine through the car lol. There are a couple of noises to sort out too, the cat still needs sorting (debaffling), there is a high pitch whine at higher rpm which i think is an over tightened accesory belt, and there is a noise from the timing belt which i think again is because the tension isnt right, when my hand is better (i broke my hand u know) i cant wait to sort thse bits out!! | |
