Description: I bought these for my VSM Ek as my show wheels, and was thrilled to find them in such good condition. as the car was in the bodyshop being painted, i got bored of not working on it, so, well....i turned to working on the wheel, and lets say, i got abit carried away! But hell, im glad i did!
i decided that i wanted to have the centre's re-polished, to bring the best out of them. I was trying to come up with a way of making them more easy to maintain, i just wouldnt have the time for regular polishing. also i wanted to do something with the pockets in between the spokes.
here's the process they went through to become the finished product you see above ^
I took the dirtiest looking one and began my work
8mm Spined socket and ratchet, 10mm socket and ratchet from behind
the pain staking process of removing all split rim bolts - and polishing them
removed the centres
Now by this time, i had come up with the best way to make these as easy to maintain as possible, and adding a nice touch to the pockets. this has enable them to be almost a daily-able wheel now
I had the face's highly polished, and the pockets between the spokes on the faces and also the rears shot blasted. this resulted in them looking a nice silver colour (as if painted)
i then had the whole centre laquered, front and rear, which seals them from the elements, retaining the polished face without requiring maintenance, and also retains the bare metal silver colour on the rears and the pockets. see pics
Then came the paint staking rebuild process.
cleaned the lips before fitting the centres
Rears
time to test fit has finally arrived
Now it was time to get a set of new tyres
Brand New Federal Fomoza FD1 - 165/50/15
One last thing to perfect them - a brand new set of cntre caps from germany
Next was JAE 2010
the wheels made the car, and i really dont need to say anything to promote selling them. the pictures do all the talking needed.
