| Well i didnt think i'd be drifting for a LONG time, but ben from emperor went all out to make it happen! And what am amazing day for it too, im actually sunburned!! (as well as aching all over), the sun was the blessing and the curse of the day for me, because it was so hot tyres on the big track would last like 3 solid laps of linking all corners up then it would be time for a new set (dispite me trying to get another lap out of one and fucking my shit all up). It has been the first time iv been able to drift at speed in the dry with my new susp setup/height and lesson learned, MOVE INNER ARCH WIRING LOOM!!! My front right wheel was doing that cool thing where the tyre just catched the top of the fender and smokes, but little did i know it was also chewing through my wiring loom, it started with the windscreen wipers coming on which i couldnt work out wtf, then my indicator stayed on, then after going back to the pit area to sort it out like a eager beaver i went back out and fully destroyed it! at the very top of the big track the car cut out and the horn just came on! Luckily i could unplug the horn from through the bumper, becasue i was at the far end nobody knew i was there so they kept sending cars out and i was stuck on the outside of possible the fastest corner I had to phone the mrs and ben to get them to tell the marshals, eventually the marshals stopped the track and came to give me a push off the track (much to there disgust was my 'shitworks' sticker on the back , i got comments like "more time on wiring, less time on stickers ay?" haha Once off the track i had to take the wheel off and sit there in the arch in the beating sun seperating and taping back up practically every wire in the main loom, after i did this it still wouldnt start, luckily some guys i was chatting to earlier in the day came and helped, turned out it was blown fuses/relays (makes sense really but at the time i was stressing too much to think straight), after bodging a washer in the fuse box it started!! but i had to drive home with no dash working (speed, fuel etc was a guessing game), no indicators, windows down, and my sideskirt in the way of the gearstick, lol All in all though i had a brilliant day and cant thank ben enough for helping me and making it happen. Just to add about bens S14; i HAVE to get a welded diff, drifting that thing was litterally effortless and gracefull, and after having all of us run a train on its ass it took the beatings and drove home sweet as a nut. Anyway heres loads of pics the mrs took:
