Sound like good plans, could be off the road for quite a whike then?
whats this other project then? I did have a pic of it non mashed but it seems to have gone walkies. Well its always off the road for the winter, hence why its so solid, the only area of rust i have is some light bubbling around the windscreen and old spoiler holes. So the engine change should be just a 4 month thing IF i get the engine around about now and money permits some performance mods. Ah, ill make a new thread | |

| Right, got a little bit of bad news chaps, unfortunatly, shes dead.
One night i was on my way home and the air filter dropped off, sucking in loads of tat and water from the road, it clogged my throttle body and proceeded to drip down through the system basically destroying the engine.
It is currently stored away.
But, i have just bought a 2jzge with very little miles on with all ancilleries which i intend to convert to a single turbo which will give me roughly 330bhp for the time being.
So watch this space.
Its gonna get good. | |

| Right quite alot has happened since the last update.
First of all ive moved units, so the serg was picked up by some friends and me with a trailer along with a van full of wheels and spares and moved to the new unit.
Once there we started to strip the current engine ready for pulling, 4 hours later and its ready to come out.
I also stripped the entire interior out to repaint the inside the same colour as the engine bay!
Ill get pictures saturday as im spending the whole day there.
Another thing thats changed is my engine plans, i was planning on turboing the na 2jz but after much more research i discovered it wasnt worth the money, so the current plan is to throttle body the na, just to be different.
The other plan was a v8 as i was offered by a family member a rover v8 with manual box for cheap, but its more work then i intended so maybe not...
Pictures to follow guys be patient.

| Well i promised some pictures so here they are. Poor thing is up on axle stands at the moment and will probably remain there for a good few months. As you can see most pipework and ancilleries have been removed ready for the block to be lifted out, all thats left to dissconnect is the gearbox mounts and engine mounts. This is the NA 2JZ to be put in, currently waiting for the mounts from the states and a metal headgasket and camblet kit. The reason i chose a NA was quite simply that i wanted to turbo it, and it was cheap. But after extensive research the money that would have to be spent was to great and showed i should either buy a gte with that money or a different engine, so i got in contact with a mate and he suggested throttle bodies. Ive never seen it on a 2jz before so thought why the hell not. All sound deadening was stripped and ready for the cage and new interior paint job to match the engine bay! BUT while stripping the interior i discovered some rot, not enough to put me off, just one area, but that area was big enough. So i currently have the plate ready to weld in when i get a moment. I also put a order in for some paint for the bay and interior in the form of bubblegum pink, just because i can. | |

| So abit of a good update, went to the unit intending to just have a chilled day scrapping the sticky sound deadening residue off but instead we done this. Yep shes out, unfortunatly a fail on my part in all the excitement i forgot to drain the gearbox so as we pulled it out the oil cascaded out. But enough of that, its out and im happy, the next stage is painting the bay. I also had a rethink in engine and thought why would i spend 1.1k on throttle bodies when i could spend that on a decent 1jzgte with much better gains. So im selling things up and putting all the sale money and more besides towards the OTHER new engine! | |
