| Was taking my now ex-gf home, in Walsal. Was the night before her practical test and i pulled over 10 minutes from her's, and let her drive the short distance to her's as it was a quiet route, for a bit of last minute practice. within 2 minutes we randomly got pulled over took her to the back of the police car, explained they pulled her over because we went through a set of lights as they were just turning amber. which i think was bullshit was just about to let her go, when they asked if she had any documents with her. she said no, obviously then they asked how long she had been driving for, the truth came out then came and got me out of the car, said they know she hasnt got a licence and i havent been driving 3 years to be able to give her a lesson blah blah blah went to get my documents out of my car and a tow truck turns up they said that month a law had been passed that any un-insured car, or any car driven by an un-insured driver would be impounded. took us both back to walsal police station to make statements, and said we would most likely have to go to court so her dad had to come pick us up lol i didn't want to let my parents know, so we went to the police station the next morning, to get the paperwork to go collect my car. DENIED because i was a named driver on my dads policy, only the policy holder could retrieve the car..........the call of shame followed........ £115 later i got her back couple of weeks later driving to 6th form, blasting along on my way to pick up Aaron, police camera van.....knew it had got me! so a couple of weeks after that, i got a letter to say i will be receiving 6 points for letting her drive my car or i could go to court. i didnt think there was much i could say to defend myself, so i pleaded guilty via post, and sent my licence with it. then 2 weeks after this i get another letter for the speeding! 3 points, and to send my licence to be endorsed. so i write back and say you've just issued me with 6 points and taken my licence away they reply that i will have to go to court now so, i go to court, and they are absolute DICKS. explained how i was a first year apprentice and need my car to get to work, and college. didnt want to know, added the other 3 points, to make it a total of 9 points and said i have to re-take my test. about a year later when i had my Eg6 Sir2, which i wont say how much it was costing to insure with 9 points, some of you know, i was on the way to Tegiwa on the dual carriageway coming into stone, came round a gentle left hander and in the distance saw this police van on the verge. slammed on the brakes but it was too late, they'd got me. 2 weeks later, letter through the post - 3 points - 86mph in a 60mph 12 points, straight ban..........luckily my dad was a named driver on my policy and thinking back, we were pretty sure he was driving that day | |

| I almost got three points for dangerous driving for a crash I had but as I was the only car involved I got the choice to do a driver awareness course which I took to keep my licence clean. | |

Very true Pallett, I was young and stupid. Jail cured me... you know what I knew I shouldn't have posted up. I knew comments like that were inevitable. Just like the time Pallet ripped up his estate with his B18c CRX, could have been a kid in the road...dont judge. | |

| I never claimed to be an angel, I've been a twat in the past in a car but never to the excesses mentioned in this thread. Also the time you mentioned, if kids were in the street it wouldn't have been done as I couldn't live with that on my conscience, you as well as I know that road was clear of traffic, pedestrians etc it still doesn't take away the fact that technically I brOke the law I know. | |
