Job Choices Empty
PostSubject: Job Choices    Job Choices EmptyMon 10 Oct 2011, 5:04 am

I just want some of your opinions/views.

At present I have two jobs, during the day I'm a gardener, I love doing it and I'm currently doing an apprenticeship at college for it too. Although at present the wage is low, around £6 an hour and I only work 3 days a week.

At night I work in a petrol station, I don't hate working there but don't want to spend the rest of my life there either. The money is better at around £8 an hour and it's 3 nights a week.

At the minute it's fcuking me up, I can't sleep properly and so I'm tired and stressed out when at work but the money is great from both which has kept me going so far.

Now I don't know what to do, keep chugging along with money or just call it quits and try living off the gardening wage?

In all honesty do what makes your feel best, yes money matters, of course it does. But if you like gardening more and your doing an apprenticeship in it as well makes sense you concentrate on that. Few years time you might have established a small business and then who knows what the future holds.

Thats my opinion anyway, ive chosen a career as a journalist, with my degree i could have gone into finance or entered the legal profession. But i enjoy journalism, pays poorly but is different and enjoyable.

The gardening job is safe, it's part of a bigger company so I do other things like collect/deliver furniture, general maintenance ect.

Find another part time job to do instead of the Petrol Station man. Pay won't be £8 an hour, maybe only a 5er. But it's better than nothing and the hours might be more in your favour!
