| it all started with my Ek3 had the car for a year and ahalf , and enjoyed every single min of it apart from the night i sold it to pursue drifting. was the worst night of my life! the second i saw the buyer drive off i knew id made amistake. so after owning a few differnt rwd machines (bmw e36 atm....HATE IT!!!!) iv decided to come back to honda found this eg on ebay, went to bid and someone had already pressed buy it now emailed he bloke and said if they let him down to let me know....they did, luckly for me. went 187miles to go see it, got there good condition other than the arches which i already knew about. went to start it and fuel pump wouldnt prime...gutted. The bloke kept saying he was going to scrap the car and saying sorry to waste my time but i realy didnt want it to be crushed, ended up being the imob wires. sorted it out and meeting the bloke today at 4:30 to pick it up. anyway enough of the essay Th reason it was going cheap big plans hence "ground up" title. not planing on selling/getting rid of this for along time. actualy going to do something mental rarther than just talk about it | |

| So, Abit of an update...more of a progression to getting things sorted rarther than exciteing things. when i brught the eg the bloke had a egay mani that he gave me for free so i brought some heat wrap and wrapped it up tonight, may aswell use it being free I also brought some wheels off dave_t a while ago to keep for my next civic build (this one) so sent them away to be dipped, there ready to collect but i carnt get there til monday so will post them up when i get them back and sprayed. not 100% on colour yet but will probs go with white, satin black or dark grey. also orderd 2 rear arches (thanks for the links Powelly ) only realy needed the drivers side but may aswell do both, so gave my mate a ring and borrowing his unit next week to get them on. booked it into my other mates bodyshop to get the rear quarters sprayed. at the end of the month its MOT time and then its build time. once my beemer sold ill be buying lots of suspension goodness has anyone used MeisterR Zeta-R coilovers? as im pretty sure thats what ill be getting along with lca's, camber adjusters and polybushes. pics to follow | |

| Good idea to heat wrap, however I feel you should have wrapped each pipe individually would have looked neater. | |

| the more im looking into it the more im going off it. apart from the rods being pretty weak the gearbox's dont seem much better + have pretty long ratio's compaired to b series. its currently having arches done today/tomoz then MOT on monday, then being sprayed. in the mean time, inspration.... | |

| So ive done something some of you maythink is a bad move but MEH! i fancy being differnt and haveing ago at engine building The culprit only went to pick up some driveshafts originaly havent got any pics yet but ive striped it down, looks like it may have been run low on oil in the past as the main bearings look alittle worn lol started tearing it apart at 7:30 tonite and its now pretty much bare and painted. going to rebuild the head and replace the bearing in the bottom end. with afew essencials such as acl headbolts, ported oil pump ect ect | |

| So, i started striping it out today and found this.... the guy i left to do that arch as i was busy as fooook hasnt even cut any of the rust out just tackd the new arch over it a.d shoved a load of underbody sealer on it do you recon i could get away with covering all the rust with rust treatment and leave it like it is OR should i rip it off and do it again? i dont know if other people have done theres like this? but i would have cut all the rust out. am i being a panicky poo for no reason or am i right? | |
