| Hi all thought i'd post up my new car, guessin it might cause a bit of controversy as there aren't many 'JDM' 4th gens out there and many people dislike them. Anyways its a 1991 JDM import 2.2 (H22A) 4ws with TCS, ABS and air con. Usual elecs (sunroof mirrors etc). Bodywork needs alot of tlc and had a smashed windscreen and no rear lights but got it for a modest 400 quid. So far ive got the lights sorted, flee-bay coils (for the time being) and an akimoto air induction. Already has exhaust, manifold and a few other bits. Anyway heres a few pics an ill get some more up tomorrow now its lowered. P.s. if anyone needs any parts iv met a chap based in peterborough (but from b'ham) thats started his own company called rims inc, dispite the name they source alot of parts (jap and non-jap e.g. rotrex etc) for good prices and labour from 25 p/h for those jobs that garages are best doing.

| na i prefer to wait to get some decent rims for it an i beleive its a different fitment anyway, 3rd gens being 4x100 and to my knowledge i think 4th gens are 4x114.3. anyway tints booked for tomorrow, not my idea but got a decent discount if i have it done tomorrow, and picked up my akimoto air intake so should be fitted tomorrow, got a quote from a scrappy for a windscreen, 100quid which is better than 370 from autoglass and 1100 for a like-for-like replacement. got a few pics but ill take more when its daytime and more bits on (apologies for the quality). | |

| tht exhaust is killin me, get something a bit more 'subtle', looks way better lowered tho. Do one thing to this car that doesnt cost alot but will make a huge difference, it doesnt matter how scrathced or if/where theres any rust spend a bit of money on a buffer and buff the shit out of the paint, it will make a huge difference to this car. ignor the car just look at the paint, theres your motivation: | |

| i t-cutted the car last wek but the paint has faded quite substantially, alot of key marks and scratches so could do with a re-spray really, would try polishing it more but my head chef walked out last sunday so workin 7 days as a brand new pub kitchens not exactly quiet on its 1st xmas, lol, but ye im lookin at a mugen manifold iv found and tempted by a tanabe medallion or jasma exhaust however again due to lack of spare time im leavin this one on for now until i get another in the new year.
at the minute the plan is (when i get time): new windscreen next friday rear bumper exhaust coilovers/at least shocks brakes wheels etc

| rear bumper and wing is on, exhaust fell off but its in the body shop until friday gettin all the bumps and that smoothed out, goes to silverstone to get body wrapped next monday (thinking desert camo still), then wheels are being sprayyed matt black until i find some different wheels to the ones i'm liking so far (revolution 4 spoke modular in a 15x9 fitment with -7 offset), then the exhaust is booked in at torque developments for a vortex system with a jap can (which im looking for a different muffler, maybe j's racing/tanabe with the vortex), then next thursday it gets the beige alcantara seats with interior re-trim and new steering wheel.
thats whats booked in so far due to problems like clutch f*ckin up an having to fit an exedy OEM clutch, power steering fluid going walkabouts, windscreen and losing keys!
once a fortnight comes around and that works done ill start the next bit inc. mugen spoiler, either wings west front lip or buddy club kit, found my broadway 400mm mirror, an a roof spoiler that im unsure of atm, and at some point nissan silvia arches (+40mm front +60mm rear) riveted on, better suspension, chassis and brakes.
ill get some pics up when i get it back

| sweet, sounds like you have a definate plan of action, how are they leaving the paintwork for the vinyl? is it being repainted?
also where your getting the arches from, do they have a website?....keep us updated

| the body shop its in is takin out the rusty arches and putting new ones in, its a ferrari bodyshop called 355 where rimz-inc gets their bodywork done, arches can be found on memoryfav i beleive but lee's trying to source them for cheaper from invotech who he knows or someone, as for bodywork theyre leaving it an just smoothing it out as the chaps from silverstone are gonna sort everything out inc. the design but ive got a few idea's for the graphic chap to play with.
its not the most 'JDM' car but once this main stuff is done i can accesorise, plus iv got a possible feature in fast car an max power already (i no its shocking but its publicity for TOA) due to lee working for them, also outside the cinema in p'bboro for the premier of fast an furious 4 in march and being on screen. Car..s already been on bbc1 look east news when rimz-inc was on the show working on the car. also attending modified nationals as part or rimz-inc trading stand which is a decent size so could do with TOA stickers asap if poss. possible banzai feature once done too.
so hopefully will be jdm-euro but reppin TOA still, and trying to keep as jdm as poss within ££ reasoning,
safe! | |
