At the minute it has a very poorly D16Y7 engine (piston 3 is slowly killing itself) so I have put a deposit down on a B18C4 conversion so I am hoping to have the engine and all the parts with me in the next 2 weeks and then will be fitting it...cant wait!! should have a good base for tuning then. Also in the next few days I will doing my 2nd attempt at the front EK9 suspension lol the lower wishbone/control arm bolts are seized in the bushes on both sides so got some new bolts from Honda to replace with.

Not much else is happening at the minute due to the money being spent on a B18 conversion....

Cheers

Cheers mate the car is coming along nicely I think few problems but can all be sorted......won't be able to make the Oct meet unfortunately as I am going to the Nurburging on the 1st....when I get back and get the engine fitted I should be able to drive further than 20 miles without worrying and will get down to some.

Wow I totally forgot I had a build thread here Very Happy- big updatey:

Well I finally got the front on the EK9 suspension which it now sits level (still to high but level Smile)....Got some decals and stickers and the main thing is she is now powered by a nice B18C4.....

With the front suspension I had to completely drill out the old bushes along with the hi tensile steal bolts and I replaced with hardened rubber bushes and bolts from Honda so now the car handles as it should....going for some 30 maybe 40mm lowering springs soon as I have been told this is the next best thing to coilis.

My Coupe EJ6 IMAG0147
My Coupe EJ6 DSCF3015
My Coupe EJ6 IMAG0180

The main thing that has took ALL my money and still is...the B18 swap! I think last time I mentioned it I was waiting on parts. After about 3 weeks of the rod knocking it finally snapped and killed the engine all the bearing seized etc so I was left without a car for about a month. I started rushing around getting all the needed parts for the B swap.....Well I got all the parts delivered which included the B18C4 engine only covered 80k, lsd gearbox, shafts, linkage, manifold and cat, ps pump, loom etc 90% of the stuff I would need to do the swap. I had to buy the Ek post timing belt engine mount and the rear L bracket separate..also got a socketed P28 and the OBD2B to OBD1 adapter harness (which is rubbish quality so will be getting a Spoon version soon). Well all together as a whole the parts cost me around £1300 and then it needed fitting.....basicly the car had been off road for about 3 weeks at this point.

My Coupe EJ6 IMAG0035

I got hold of a man who came to me with a mate of his and together we got the full swap done in 2 days on my drive lol...we started at 11am and had the engine running by 11pm the same day then we had a few bits to sort the next day. We modified my d series engine loom to run the engine which took a while but works fine (I now have a EK VTEC loom so will be replacing soon). To cut a really long story short the coupe is now B18'd lol.

My Coupe EJ6 IMAG0213

The next thing that happened is I ditched the stock P30 ecu that was running the swap as I was not really comfortable having a 1.6 ecu running the 1.8. I got my chipped P28 and took the blank chip to my mates house and with his software we put an official spoon map on. It has a aggressive fuel map and it had the limiter set at 9k...so for safety we turned it down to limit at 8.5k. Eventually I will get a custom map done but its running the engine great for know.

Rite I will leave it there as I would be bored reading all that hahaa

Cheers

I have decided to take the coupe Mugen style with offical parts etc so thats the theme I am taking from now on. I am hopefully swapping the Rotas with some SSR type C lightweight forged wheels if all goes to plan and I have some goodies coming for Christmas in the form of wind deflectors, Mugen side vinyl, spoon res socks etc....will keep you guys updated.

Cheers

nice work, will feel like a new car Smile

an 'official sppon map' for a B18C4? i'm going to throw it out there, that there is no such thing. it most likely is a B18C-R map, and that will not work well on the c4. custom map asap

Yeah I meant I am going to be getting and changing as many parts as possible to Mugen ones...money depending though Very Happy

I picked some of these up as a kind of experiment..they can always come off if I don't like them.

Cheers dude...my official spoon map was basically a friend had a proper Spoon ecu a while ago and got it mapped at Spoon Europe for his B18C4 (was stock at the time)....The chip in these are usually not removable as you probably know but we managed to unsolder it and steal the map from it Razz then put it on my blank chip.

Cheers

Hahaha you should have seen our faces trying not to damage the £500 ecu Razz I still need a custom map as my engine wont be exactly the same as his was but for know it will do nicely and I like the little pops it does and thats with the cat in....my wallet does not like the fact I can only run the car on 99 ocatane petrol now lol.
