Benkei's Supra Empty
PostSubject: Benkei's Supra   Benkei's Supra EmptyMon 31 Jan 2011, 3:36 am

After a long trip to JM Imports in Newcastle yesterday, I had an amazing 4 hour drive home in my white Toyota Supra MKIV 6-speed twin turbo beast!

I have just cleaned her up and taken pictures, but as my PC is still dead and I can't upload them from my iPhone, the pics will have to wait! Sad

Specs from what I can remember right now are:

Top Secret body kit
HKS Priest exhaust system
Triple plate clutch
Aftermarket flywheel
Aftermarket LSD
18" Genova Auto Strada magnesium wheels
Big brakes
Coilovers
Apexi FC
Apexi turbo timer
Nardi steering wheel
Driver's side Recaro bucket seat
Passenger's side Recaro half bucket seat

She's BPU'd so running around 400bhp, and is amazing to drive! There is so much power and it's right on tap. Even 60mph in 6th gear, just half throttle and you soar upto and over 100 leptons in seconds!

Just need to get the wheels aligned as she pulls to the side a bit. Also, that clutch is a right pain in the ass! Getting into 1st and reverse is really difficult, especially when it's cold. I stalled quite a lot trying to get used to it, and it's pretty noisey too but that doesn't bother me much.

Looking forward to the February meet now I finally have a Jap car again!

I'm liking the red Supe Haydn, clean and tasteful Very Happy

As Attley said, I have some pics on my Facebook, though my iPhone refuses to let me upload them anywhere useful!

After my first day of driving it to and from work, I have started to put together a list of to-do's!

Firstly, the suspension is rock solid! I've had stiff rides before, but fark me this is something else! I had a quick peek behid the wheels and can see a yellow shock with blue springs, any idea what they could be? The tops are plain so no giveaways there! So my first job is to soften the ride a little. Driving over the smallest of holes or bumps judders the car and bounces it all over the place! It's doing the steering and tracking no good either! The height is good, I get some scraping off my driveway so can't really go any lower!
So anyone fancy giving me hand adjusting the suspension on the weekend?

Once that's done I can get the wheels aligned so she's driving true. You know a good place right Ezz? They did your 200sx?

Then I need to investigate the engine, see if I have either or both decats, check the air filter, and find out what is going on engine wise before I make any plans! Also get some decent photos to put up!

yeah, Aline in dudley, good guys and a good price

when i first fitted my hsd's i thought the same thing 'there way too stiff' but as iv got used to the car more and more iv found myself stiffening them back up bit by bit.
Its different with a big heavy rwd car dude, when you start to drive it fast properly you will see what i mean, but we can have a look at softening it if you like, if of course they are adjustable.

give me a shout the weekend mate

I've seen a stock looking white Supra in Dudley, always parked on a driveway though. And I think I've seen the blue on too a couple of times, looks well nice!
