right, been talking with my dad, who HATES my ek because its ridiculously inpractical, and he's agreed when my next pay comes in, he' would lend me a little cash to get a new car, and sell my ek asap to pay him back. wanted rwd for a while, and this is a good chance to get something to get sideways in
been looking at s14's, s14a's in particular and not found one i really like for the money i'll be spending - around £2800 - £3000
was looking at this blue 98' touring
cat d, but could use that to get the price down. few nice touches, like the rolled and flared arches

I'm sensing a few S14s repping the TOA scene soon lol.
Looks really clean. I'd ask more about the Cat D as a rear bumper wouldn't write a car off... What's the REAL damage underneath?

yeah definately hawked in on that no one writes a car off for a bumper. (apart from my ek sir because they could get an import bumper, even though a standard ek4 sir has a uk prefacelift bumper same as any other ek) haha. could be a good bargaining tool. hasnt messaged back yet. i'm liking this one

Hi David,
I don't have any pictures of the damage as it was the previous owner. It was so light that the original bumper was still used- but it was new lights etc. (Rear).
The VVT rattle is fine in honesty- it comes on from a fresh start up, and the goes after 30 secs, or when you put it in first and get the clutch up. The engine is pretty much smooth when warn- I am not even sure if it actual VVT rattle, or just simple cold engine!
Again the interior- when I say worn, its really 7/10, but the pictures make it look perfect. There are a few marks here and there, but its fine.
Tell you what- I was going to take it in to get my headunit connected properly, and get a new right hand bulb. If you are ok with the issues (I can supply a new bulb if you want)- I wont let it go any less than £2700.
Its a genuinely good S14a- I go the SXOC meets, and I think mine is one of the better ones.
Hope that helps.

S2k may have to wait till next year, so this would fill the space nicely!

FAO Ezza - the vvt rattle, is that common? And expensive to put right? Is it often miss-took for some other rattle, like a bottom end knock? Wouldn't like a full rebuild...

I've been looking a lot into these as I was going to get one a while back. VVT rattle is really common. There is no known cure, but it's not a serious issue. It doesn't damage the engine, it just sounds pants. It's only on start up and goes once the engine is warmed up. Engine rebuilds may or may not sort it, and if it does, the rattle may come back after a few weeks, months or years. The other things to look for are just the standard things like the rear arches, which have been sorted on this one, and major rust underneath by the sills, and especially underneath the side skirts.
