| needs to lower the comp at the head with a metal gasket and get the valves and rings looked at for leaks. | |

| Yeah true, but if you dont start out with a good block theres just no point.
IMO it takes about a year for a D series engine on stock internals with low boost (6-9psi) to blow. The block itself will take a shit ton of compression but people fail on thinking the stock beams and rings will hold...they simply dont! ever!
