| jay the papaer clip test is to see whats causing the problem by it giving out different codes ie: the light flickers on and off a number of times to replicate which code its down as, just doin the paper clip thing in the loom doesnt turn the light off you have to fix the problem first. | |

| LOL...... any way ive figured out whats going on with the electrics, after 3 blown fuses and a jump start from a friendly evo driver...I finally got home from work...
theres 3 wires going in to the alternator (which is working i think, it charges battery when not blowing fuses) from the engine loom and they join a cluster of wires going under the inlet manifold i have fiddled around with them and the engine management light went out. Car started fine and drove fine. I think that its a faulty plug or somewhere in the cluster the wires have corroded..... or bad earth...any way fuses keep blowing.
However heres the confusing part the speedo still isnt working ...and when i drive a bit quick the light comes back on, i get out and fiddle with the wires again and it goes off...the will blow a fuse all of a sudden car dies..
I give up its parked up on my drive for the next couple of weeks until my AA cover kicks in then I can claim up to £500 of garage work (£25 excess so £475 worth of work) ...Im sure that it could be a mixture of a few things that could be blowing the fuse...
1) bad ground 2) dodgey wireing or plug 3) Alternator
Mr AA can deal with it...
Ive also done some extensive reading on this but cant find a definitive answer...
Ideas any one??

| FYI, rota's had a history of breaking only after being powder coated, something to do with the chemicals. but still.........not on the coop | |

| Cars all booked in to the Auto electricians on Tuesday for diagnostics. Has any on had any experience with Auto Start (Midlands) Ltd in Netherton?
Typically they have all quoted me £35 +vat an hour, most are mobile with no guarantee have chosen Auto Start as they have a shop location and their own garage and provide a warranty to their work. | |
