| Ordered a shit load of stuff but cant do anything till my trailor mudguards arrive. They were meant to be here last thursday, rang them today and apparently they came back to them damaged in transit, didnt think to ring me to tell me though :s il have some fresh ones for this friday got a twin electric fan and shroud setup coming from the US so i can finally use this ally rad iv had for ever too. just cant wait to get cracking, i want to go outside and start on it NOW!! oh yeah, my loom turned out the loom i was sold was a manual S14A loom So after figuring out how to bypass the inhibotor switch i converted it to manual, only to find it doesnt plug into the ign barrel. so I started trying to find out for definate the difference between the S14 and S14A ign barrel plug so i knew for sure what the problem was, seems like the entire internet has no idea so im back to making a custom hybrid loom using my burnt out 14 loom to model the 14A loom too, tedious i know but i litterally have no choice now. updates to come | |

| My lounge a couple of days ago After trying again and again to try to convert this S14a loom to fit my 14 I gave up, its just too different. Luckily though i managed to get in contact with the guy who runs the buisness that i brought my loom from, he couldnt have been more helpfull! He offered me a refund or if i could hang on untill he gets a 14 in he will send me the loom, so I told him to just lmk when he gets one in. Big thanks to stokes for the help and taking me to B&Q to get some more cutting discs for the day. also thanks to ben for the moral support, lol After waiting for a couple of weeks my trailer mudguards finally came, so today the aim was to start the tubbing process. First things first, get the bulk out the way to start with: no turning back now My tyres were scrubbing on the inner arch obviously hence the tubbing but something harder to solve was that the tyre was catching the underside of the wing 'truss' So i supported the front of the car to stop any 'sag' while i started modifying it. I cut in hard: folded it back so i could get to the back of it and cut it off. Cut to size a peice of 1.5m, tacked one end then bent to follow the curve and tacked in place: Then once it was secure i welded it in, thoroughly, seeing as its structural. Dont mind the dog shit welds, i was upside down looking up with the sky in the background which meant i could see fark ALL from the side: New clearance, im well happy with that: Anyway, back to the tubs: The general idea: I cut along the length of the arch to get rid of the curve back inwards towards the tire, il weld a strip in its place for maximum room: Put the pipe on to see how much room i could claim before fouling the pipes, plenty: After teaking and trimming before i knew it it was 9:15, i couldnt carry on grinding so just made some rough templates for me to work with tomorrow: More tomorrow | |

| cheers
yeah im gunna tuck the lines but not as extreme as i was on the teg, just gunna re-do the lines from the m/c to the arches so they run out of sight rather than them running right accross the top of the bilkhead like oem.
let me know when your ready, i wouldnt like to weld visable bodywork just yet though but il get better over time. | |

| Cheers lads Nah the idea was to use the mudguards as the arches, but they are curved accross there width more than i thought they would be, so to maximise room i cut off the bend back towards the tire. Plus the rolled lip just looks alot neater than a sharp edge. I should have been taking more pics during the process but we were too busy. Il let the pics do the talking: Thats how i had to leave it after my welder started playing up (i need a new swan neck liner). HUGE thanks to stokes for the help, that guy has patience and skill with a grinder | |
