My new project car (teg h8rz beware)

I will soon be starting the buildup of my new project, il get some before (ish) pics, as i forgot to take some before a gave it a wash and a clean out.

As some of you may know i have had a few difficulties even in this early stage of the project. I brought the car without an engine so odviously i had it towed back, the guy i brought it off supplyed me with some SSR's which i was going to put on my EG but 3/4 of the way into the journey home with the car one of the whels came off or split, im not entirely sure (il post pics of whats left of the wheel) so needless to say the arse got dragged along the motorway for a good while and im left with 3 SSR's, after looking at the damage its only damaged the hub and the lower control arm, both parts i will be replacing anyway.

This is the car how i brought it, not bad for 400 quid

After a quick clean+hoover out:

The remainder of the rear left wheel which came off while being towed back (there SSR RS8's btw!!)




Me breaking things of my engine!!! its ok though, im changing it for a manual pulley tensioner which uses different mounting points.

Manual power steering conv, used a clutch fluid resoviour so it will stay lubed up (resoviour not mounted yet)

After doing some reasearch im going to make a revised p/s delete.

But this wont be for a while, the projects on hold until i get the drive back so i can get it completely in the air and get everything off.

Iv got the car up on stands ready for me to drop the tank out and run the new brake and fuel lines, but before i turn my attension to the car i want to get the engine done.
Picked up an engine stand from machine mart, 32quid!! and its propa!
After chasing around after some bolts i finally found some and got the engine on the stand, only to find that one of the plugs has completely erroded away leaving me no way to remove it! So me being me and wanting any excuse to take stuff apart i thought id take the head off so i could grab the plug from underneath and unscrew it that way, but the tip will easily break off before it turns so im going to send it off to be removed along with a port&polish, this also means i can now put some ARP head studs and a thicker head gasket on when it goes back together lowering the compresion which is always good for boost

Oh yeah, got my rocker powder coated while ste had his done, we also had the side cut away to allow easier access to the cam gears for when we get adjustable ones:

that engine is looknig really good inside, I think you have brought a minter there

yeah cant complain really, the powdery residue on top of piston 4 is corroded spark plug . Il have to get some air in a aerosol can to get it out without scoring the sleeves.

everythink is look nice man. have u got the spark plug out. how did u do it,

Got another small update

Originally i was going to paint the subframe and the surrounding brackets but after i cleaned it up it only needed touching up, looks alot better.

Tonight I decided to fit the new rear trailing arm bushes.
I also gave the arms a clean and lick of paint too, looking alot better.

Here you can see the difference between the old and new ones:
